AYU does her own thing. The singer, songwriter and producer delivers a mixture of contemporary Pop, future-thinking Electronics, catchy RnB tunes and sweet Indie. Her so-called Trip Pop is a deep push-pull dialogue in which heart-stoppingly honest lyrics meet rhythmic x dreamy vocals, and futuristic beats are combined with swirling guitar patterns. At the centre of her playful genre clash, the singers warm and soulful voice attracts everyone who listens to her right away. Her music was already compared to CHVRCHES, MS MR, FKA twigs or Lana Del Rey.
In the summer of 2018 AYU released her debut single ‘Kings & Queens’, which made it into the Spotify Viral Charts and which is played on various radio stations in Switzerland and Germany - high rotations including. Moreover she played her first festival season in Germany, Switzerland & Italy, striking with her band and signature ayuanic dance moves at e.g. Gurtenfestival Bern (w/ Gorillaz, MØ, alt-J or Sofi Tukker) or Moon&Stars Locarno (w/ Rita Ora or Emeli Sandé) or L-Beach Festival, where after her gig on the newcomer stage she could jump in on the main stage for Joan As Police Woman, whose flight had been cancelled. Furthermore she was chosen as one of six upcoming German + Danish talents to be part of the c/o pop Festival x Spot Festival 'Aarhus Sessions' in Cologne. In autumn 2018 she played support shows in Germany for Poliça x Stargaze or Eleanor Friedberger. At the beginning of 2019 AYU released her second single 'Another Mess, I' and in spring her 3rd single 'Throw Roses'. Both tracks went on air in Switzerland, Germany and Norway and were featured by international blogs. In 2019 AYU played a few chosen support shows e.g. as opening act for VÖK and festivals like Reeperbahn Festival. In March 2020 AYU released her debut EP 'I Changed My Mind' for which she was named as 'Best Talent' by Swiss radio station SRF 3. On March 11th 2022 she released her second EP 'In Waves' which deals with the topic of grief, followed by the 'Double Trouble' EP in August - it is about having a huge crush on somebody x mixed feelings. In September she released the EP 'Synchronicity' - which is asking questions around the concept of synchronicities by C.G. Jung. In November she went on a GSA support tour with Sophie And The Giants. AYU macht ihr Ding. Mal soft, mal stürmisch liefert die Sängerin und Produzentin einen Mix aus zeitgenössischem Pop, Electronica aus verschiedenen Jahrzehnten & zuckersüsse Indie-Wellen. In ihrem Trip-Pop treffen rhythmische auf verträumte Vocals und futuristische Beats auf verzerrte Gitarren. Das Zentrum der ayuanischen Mischung bildet, nebst den herzzerreissend ehrlichen Lyrics, die soulige Stimme der Sängerin, welche wie dafür gemacht zu sein scheint, diejenigen in den Bann zu ziehen, die ihr lauschen. Verglichen wurde ihre Musik u.a. bereits mit CHVRCHES, MS MR, FKA Twigs oder Lana Del Rey.

Gurtenfestival Bern (w/ Gorillaz, MØ, alt-J oder Sofi Tukker), Moon&Stars Locarno (w/Rita Ora + Emeli Sandé) oder L-Beach Festival, wo AYU nach ihrer Show auf der Newcomer Stage spontan als Ersatz für Joan As Police Woman auf der Main Stage aufgetreten ist. Im Herbst 2018 hat sie in Deutschland Support Shows für u.a. Poliça x Stargaze gespielt. Auch mit ihrer Anfang 2019 veröffentlichten Single 'Another Mess, I' und der im Frühling erschienenen Single 'Throw Roses' schaffte sie den Sprung ins Radio (z.B. SWR 3, N-Joy, MDR Jump, Radio Fritz, SRF3). Aktuell hat AYU ausgewählte Support-Shows (z.B. für VÖK) in Deutschland und der Schweiz sowie Festivals wie z.B. das Reeperbahn Festival gespielt. Am 6. März 2020 ist AYU's Debüt-EP 'I Changed My Mind' erschienen, wofür sie vom Schweizer Radiosender SRF 3 direkt als 'Best Talent' ausgezeichnet und einen Monat lang in den Fokus gestellt wurde. Am 11. März 2022 hat sie ihre zweite EP 'In Waves' veröffentlicht, gefolgt von der 'Double Trouble' EP übers Verliebt- und Verwirrtsein. Im September erschien die 'Synchronicity' EP, die sich dem Konzept der Synchronizität von C.G. Jung widmet. Im November war sie als Support für Sophie And The Giants auf DACH-Tour.
